Dr Jessica Maher is originally from Queensland and completed her medical degree in 2006 at the James Cook University in Northern Queensland.  She has recently completed her general Practice training.

Jessica has an interest in Skin Cancer Medicine and minor procedures and enjoys educating patients about sun protection and prevention of skin cancers.

She is looking forward to furthering her skin cancer skills by obtaining certificates in skin cancer medicine.

Dr Katy Harvey

Dr. Katy Harvey graduated from Oxford University in the UK in 2008 with a medical degree (BMBCh), a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Sciences (BA) with First Class Honours and a Masters degree. Since moving to Melbourne in 2011, she has obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG) and a Diploma in Child Health (DCH). In 2015, she was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP).

Katy has pursued her interest in skin cancer, obtaining Certificates in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine, Primary Care Skin Cancer Surgery, Skin Cancer Therapeutics and an Advanced Certificate in Dermatoscopy and Histopathology. In 2017, she was awarded a Professional Diploma in Dermoscopy and a Professional Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine.

She has a passion for excellence in patient care and values the importance of further training throughout her career. She is currently working towards the Academic Expert in Dermoscopy and Preventive Dermato-Oncology award with the Medical University of Graz, Austria.

Katy is a Senior Lecturer with The University of Queensland School of Medicine for the Masters of Medicine (skin cancer) program, assisting with teaching skin cancer medicine to doctors. She also enjoys teaching other healthcare professionals as a Surgical Assistant for HealthCert skin cancer courses.

Dr Sheetal Vig

Dr Sheetal Vig graduated in 2008 from King’s College London with both Bachelor of Science and MBBS degree. After completing her two year foundation training Sheetal went onto to work at several busy trauma centres around England.

She obtained her MRCGP in 2014 after three years of varied rotations in extremely busy London hospitals.

After working as a GP in London for a few years, Sheetal decided to make a move over to Australia in 2016, then obtained her FRACGP.

Since arriving she has developed a keen interest in skin cancer medicine, dedicating herself to further training in this area. She has gained several qualifications including a Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine, certificates in Primary Care Skin Cancer Surgery and Medicine, Dermoscopy, Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine.

Sheetal has incorporated her training in skin cancer medicine into her GP clinics, recently being the sole skin cancer provider in a rural town.

She is dedicated to further training and development and will be following the path of attaining her Skin Cancer College Fellowship in 2019.

Dr Anu Achar

Dr Anu Achar has been working in General Practice since 2006 and has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of Skin cancers since it is such an integral part of General Practice. She shares her time between General Practice and Skin cancer practice. Apart from Australia Anu has worked in India and Singapore.

Dr Achar has completed a Diploma in Dermatology from the Australian Institute of Dermatology and holds an Advanced Clinical certificate in Dermoscopy and Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery from the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. She is working towards her Fellowship in Skin Cancer.

Dr Vaughan Speck

Dr Vaughan Speck graduated from the University of Western Australia and spent many years in General Practice in rural Victoria, before developing an interest in Skin Cancer Medicine.

Over the past 10 years, Vaughan has attained numerous Skin Cancer Medicine qualifications and regularly attends Skin Cancer conferences. He was involved in his local Division of General Practice and also in Accreditation and has an interest in improving systems in medical practice in order to improve the patient’s quality of care and professional satisfaction.

Dr Speck is currently ASCC's State Medical Director for Victoria.
